Sept 2015FBI discovers DNC has been hacked – FBI discovers a cyber-espionage team linked to the Russian government had penetrated the DNC. An FBI agent tells a DNC tech-support contractor. The contractor does a cursory search of computer logs and fines nothing. He does not respond to further FBI warnings. link
Mar 19, 2016Podesta’s email account is hacked – Hackers send Podesta’s an email directing him to a website to change his password. A Podesta staffer is told incorrectly by a Clinton campaign staffer that the email is legitimate and Podesta should change his password immediately. link

TRUMP DOSSIER COMPILED BY CHRISTOPHER STEELE (Timeline)

“The 35-page dossier claims that Russia is in possession of damaging or embarrassing information about Trump which could be used for purposes of blackmail to get Trump to cooperate with the Russian government. The material includes allegations about Trump’s sexual and financial dealings in Russia. The dossier further alleges that Trump has been cultivated and supported as a presidential candidate by Russia for over five years, with the overall aim of creating divisions between Western alliances; that Trump has extensive ties to Russia; and that there had been multiple contacts between Russian officials and people working for Trump during the campaign.” link
June 2016Steele begins information on Trump. Former British senior intelligence officer Christopher Steele, who specializes in Russian counter-intelligence, is hired to research Trump’s dealings with Russia and elsewhere. This was for an opposition research project financed by a Republican client. link
June 20, 2016First memo issued. Steele issues the first memo in the dossier. link
